OCULAR BIOMETRY
Ocular biometry is a diagnostic test which allows us to measure the axial length of the eye, the depth of the anterior chamber and the thickness of the crystalline lens.
Ocular biometry is carried out using two methods which are, Optical biometry (IOLMaster), based on the optical system of laser projection of optical coherence and ultrasound biometry, based on ultrasonic echography.
In the H.O.I. we have both methods available and neither of them requires special preparation on the part of the patient for the test to be carried out.
It is very important that the procedure be carried out by experienced staff, as the precision of this test depends on calculating the intraocular lens which is to be implanted in the eye , whether that be for cataract surgery , or refractive surgery with lens implantation.
